Microsoft Operating system usually reserves 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes like its Windows Updates and for various use. Internet Speed is an crucial factor. Without a good Internet Speed its really frustrating to browse. The third world country like us have to face this Internet Speed problem. Today I will show you how to rease Internet Speed 20% by Disabling Windows Reserve.

You can stop the reservation and earn it back; I am going to show you how:

Increase Internet Speed:

Click on the Start then Run or Write Run on the start menu. After you open Run, type gpedit.msc. Or simply write gpedit.msc in start men. This will open the group policy editor.

Then go to:

  • Local Computer Policy
  • Computer Configuration
  • Administrative Templates
  • Network
  • QOS Packet Scheduler
  • Limit Reservable Bandwidth.

Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth.

It will show that, it is not configured, See in the Help tab:-

“By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default.”

“If you enable this setting, you can use the “Bandwidth limit” box to adjust the amount of bandwidth the system can reserve.”

“If you disable this setting or do not configure it, the system uses the default value of 20 percent of the connection.”

So this trick ENABLE the reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO.
